You Need a Permanent Fix

Image
Good Morning  Scripture reading: Psalm 34 Worship song: Only A Look Meditation:      Life comes with many challenges and issues that cause chaos, confusion, sorrows, pain, disappointment, and frustration. Persons tried desperately to regulate intense negative emotions in whatever way or however they could to drown their sorrows and get relief, which is not the most effective strategy. Many are those who are overwhelmed by hurt, loneliness, rejection, mistakes, bad choices, financial debt, family crises, failures, etc., and are seeking solutions by turning to sources that only provide temporary support. Alcohol, drugs, gambling, smoking, sexual immoralities, lascivious indulgence, etc. are only temporary solutions and cannot fix the root causes created by your situation. These will only cause more harm than good, plunging you deeper into sin and a life rejecting the creator. If you are struggling with problems you can't handle, Jesus can fix them for you. If there...

Made Whole

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 5:1-15 Worship song: You made me whole Meditation:      The story of the impotent folks waiting patiently on the porches surrounding the pool called Bethesda bears a similarity to the many persons who lie in the hospital beds waiting to recover from their illnesses, waiting for their healing and breakthrough. The impotent folks at the poolside had faith, and they believe that if they continue to wait, they will one day receive their healing. The patients who visited hospitals also believe and expect the doctors to administer the right remedy that will help in their healing process. The most intriguing part of the story as it relates to the scripture is the man who lived with his infirmity for thirty-eight years, yet he never lost hope. His faith and belief that there was still hope are evident in his consistent visit to the pool. His condition caused him to lose his ability to move swiftly to the pool, so he was never able to...

In What Do We Boast?

Image
Good morning   Scripture reading: Psalm 49 Worship song: I will boast in Christ   Meditation:      It is customary for humans to boast about their accomplishments, their successes, and their possessions. Being successful or being blessed with amazing talent and abilities are not bad things, but we so often seek these things above pursuing a relationship with God. The material things we possess and the things we accomplish are nothing compared to knowing and living for God. We can gain the world and be the most successful person, but that cannot compare to having a close connection to God. Solomon was wise and rich, yet he concluded that what he acknowledged was vanity and vexation of spirit. The more we strive to obtain and accomplish the things of the world, the less we seek after God. Matthew 6:33, Jesus implores us to seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and other things will be granted unto us. Solomon had a desire to serve ...

Wash And Be Clean

Image
Good Morning Scripture reading: 1 John 1:5-10 Worship song: Redeemed Meditation:      For several weeks I waited to see who would willingly clean the fan in the office, but when no one volunteered, I took on the task. The color of the fan was hidden under the dust and dirt that accumulated on the surface. By using water, bleach, and soap, the fan once again looked brand new. As my mind drifted back to the condition the fan was in, I thought about the debris of sins that had accumulated within our hearts. Stop for a moment and think about how dirty and murky you have become because of the sins that you continue to commit. Think about how unclean you are with all the unconfessed sins that accumulated over the years. We have all sinned against our Heavenly Father and have done what is evil in his sight. None of us can truly say we have no sin, for we are all sinners saved by grace. When we come in contact with Jesus Christ, He will wash all scarlet sins away and make them ...

Who Are Your Advisors?

Image
Scripture reading: Esther 5 Praise song: His Blood Washes Me  Meditation:      When King Ahasuerus promoted Haman and set him above all the princes that were with him, all the servants that were in the king's gate bowed in reverence to Haman except Mordecai, the Jews. Haman tried everything to persuade Mordecai to bow before him but failed, and therefore he despised him. Consumed by his hatred, Haman sought ways to destroy Mordecai and all the Jews. He was so consumed by hatred and desire to destroy Mordecai that he listened to the advice of those whose hearts were just as evil as his. Unfortunately, Haman was hanged on the gallows he built for Mordecai. Seeking advice from those with evil intentions will always be detrimental. If you are consumed by bitterness, anger, wrath, and envy, if your heart is filled with evil, do not seek advice from someone whose heart is cold and callous, consumed with evil. You cannot overcome evil with evil, but with good. A good advi...

The Greatest Sacrifice

Image
Scripture reading: Hebrews 9:19-28 Worship song: I Give You My Heart   Meditation:      What are you willing to sacrifice? We often hear that we should give our best offering—in other words, give our best monetary sacrifice. Does giving our best offering guarantee us a place in God's kingdom? Is monetary sacrifice our best and only offering? We look forward to the opportunity to sow seeds and bless ministries, but we should be mindful that while giving, Jesus expects us to sow into the Kingdom of God by surrendering our lives to Him. The greatest sacrifice we can offer to God is our life as a living sacrifice. We must first seek to offer our lives and surrender all to follow Jesus Christ. Giving a huge sum does not guarantee one a place in the Kingdom of God. It is only by committing our lives to God that we are saved and that we will receive the gift of eternal life. Over two thousand years ago, the greatest sacrifice that took place was made by Jesus Christ when ...

The Hell Experience

Image
Scripture reading: Romans 12:16-21 Praise song: Give me your peace  Meditation:          In the year 2021, I had a vision where I died and went to hell. In the pitch blackness, there was a little glimmer of light as if I were directed by someone. While there, it was revealed to me that I needed to forgive a particular person who had hurt me several years before. My response was that I had already forgiven the person; the person who I could not see let me know that I had not been forgiven by the debtor. I thought and pondered about the vision for several months but soon forgot about it. As fate would have it, in 2022, I received a call from the individual, and our lengthy conversation led us down the path of the past. I never knew until then that I had so much bottled up inside. Shocked by the outpouring from a wounded heart, the person asked for forgiveness, and the burden of my heart was immediately lifted. God will allow the Holy Spirit to rev...

Clean outside, messy inside

Image
Scripture reading: St. Matthew 23:23-28 Worship song: Holy Are You Lord Meditation:     Jesus, while speaking to the multitude, used the lifestyle of the Scribes and Pharisees as an illustration to bring across His message with clarity. The Scribes and Pharisees appeared righteous to men, but inwardly they were filled with iniquities and uncleanness. They were more concerned about religion and obeying the rules and laws of man than living a righteous life, rather than ensuring that their hearts were clean. The life some of us unveil is similar to that of the Scribes and Pharisees. Our outward appearance attracts and looks appealing to the eyes of our onlookers, but what will they see when they gaze at the inside? As a people, we are drawn to the outward beauty, beguiled by our natural inception and the lust of the eyes. Can we not see that the beauty without should also be within? We often select, hire, marry, and cling to people based on external image but miss the much more...
